I remember one day in the MTC my companion Elder Jenkins and were doing a mock discussion. The training center asks for volunteers to pretend to be investigators so that the missionaries have some real world situations. The discussion was going rough as we were still learning to read in Russian and learning the missionary's way of life. I remember I was attempting to teach about Prophets and I asked the investigator to read from Amos 3:7 which says: Surely the Lord God will do nothing, but he revealeth his secret unto his servants the prophets. She said that she didn't read Russian. This came as a surprise to me for a thought all poeple in dorky BYU sweaters wearing socks with sandals were fluent in all languages. So I slowly began to read. It said something like this: "Ibo Gospodt Bog nichevo ne delaet ne otchriv svoi tiny rubbam svoim prorokam. Of course the only thing I understood out of that was "tiny rub bum" I was shocked that the bible would contain such language. Anyway we started laughing really hard and needless to say our teacher wasn't very pleased with our spirituality. I'm glad we were laughing though because it was either that or crying.
